STORY :

第一師團士兵杉元佐一因為服役期滿退役，受死於1904年（明治37年）日俄戰爭同鄉戰友的遺囑「請治好我妻子的眼睛」之託，需要大量金錢的杉元，聽聞北海道的河川充滿沙金，便隻身前往北海道淘金。在淘金時，杉元偶然聽聞一起牽涉到約值八億日圓的金塊的搶案。
他之後遭到熊攻擊，在擊退熊的過程中，杉元結識了阿伊努族少女阿席莉帕，而阿席莉帕父親正是死於那起搶案之中。為了探尋父親身亡的真相，阿席莉帕同意與杉元共同行動，自戰爭生還的杉元負責戰鬥，因為阿依努信仰不願意殺人的阿席莉帕則運用阿依努人的智慧負責追蹤與野外求生，這個特別的二人組就此踏上追尋黃金的險惡之旅。
