STORY :

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants.
Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Elen and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Elen vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.

悠长的历史之中,人类曾一度因被巨人捕食而崩溃。幸存下来的人们建造了三面巨大的防护墙来阻止了巨人的入侵。不过作 为“和平”的代价，人类失去了到墙壁的外面去这一“自由”，如同被圈养的畜牲一般安稳的生活着。主人公艾伦•耶格尔对还没见过的外面的世界抱有兴趣，同时 也对人类失去的“自由”抱有向往，不同于惧怕巨人且盲目相信墙壁保护自身安全而甘愿生存在墙内的大多数人类，他想到墙外的世界去探险的想法被视为异端。
正在人们安逸了100年之际，一个前所未见的“超大型巨人”出现了打破了这片宁静，重创墙壁之后又神秘消失了。因为墙壁受到了超大型巨人的损害，墙外的巨人成群的冲进墙内捕食人类，艾伦的生活就在这一刻开始发生了翻天覆地的变化...

Beberapa ratus tahun yang lalu, manusia nyaris pupus kerana dibunuh oleh golongan orang gergasi yang memburu untuk menghiburkan diri di samping sebagai sumber makanan. Segelintir manusia terselamat dan membina tembok yang amat tinggi mengelilingi sebuah bandar sebagai tempat perlindungan.
Beralih ke dunia sekarang di mana golongan orang gergasi sudah lama tidak kelihatan, tapi remaja bernama Elen dan adik angkatnya Mikasa tiba-tiba menyaksikan sesuatu yang amat dahsyat, tembok tinggi telah dirobohkan oleh orang gergasi. Kemudian orang gergasi yang lebih kecil menyusul masuk ke bandar, dan mak mereka telah dibunuh dan dimakan di depan mata mereka. Elen bersumpah akan membunuh semua orang gergasi dan membalas dendam untuk manusia sejagat.
